Bill 5, Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act, 2025

The Standing Committee on the Interior will meet to consider Bill 5, An Act to enact the Special Economic Zones Act, 2025, to amend the Endangered Species Act, 2007 and to replace it with the Species Conservation Act, 2025, and to amend various Acts and revoke various regulations in relation to development and to procurement.

The Committee intends to hold public hearings in Toronto on Thursday, May 22, 2025 and Monday, May 26, 2025.

Interested people who wish to be considered to make an oral presentation on Bill 5 are required to register by 2:00 p.m. (EDT) on Monday, May 12, 2025.

Those who do not wish to make an oral presentation but wish to comment on the bill may send a written submission by 6:00 p.m. (EDT) on Monday, May 26, 2025.
