AND CULTURAL POLICY

COMITÉ PERMANENT DU PATRIMOINE, DE L’INFRASTRUCTURE
ET DE LA CULTURE

Wednesday 4 June 2025 Mercredi 4 juin 2025

Subcommittee report

The committee met at 0902 in committee room 1.

The Chair (Ms. Laurie Scott): Good morning, everyone. The Standing Committee on Heritage, Infrastructure and Cultural Policy will now come to order.

We are joined by staff from legislative research.

Please wait until I recognize you before starting to speak, and as always, all comments should go through the Chair. Are there any questions before we begin?

Subcommittee report

The Chair (Ms. Laurie Scott): Seeing none, the Clerk has distributed the report of the subcommittee on committee business dated Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

MPP Saunderson.

Mr. Brian Saunderson: Further to the discussion of the subcommittee, with MPP Bourgouin and MPP Watt, I move adoption of the report of the subcommittee on committee business dated May 7, 2025.

Just for clarification: This is the summary of the evidence that came forward on the regional governance review hearings that were held in the 43rd Parliament. This is just bringing that forward so that we have that evidence before us, so that when we move forward on this issue, we will have the benefit of that evidence.

The Chair (Ms. Laurie Scott): MPP Saunderson has moved adoption of the subcommittee report. Is there any debate? Seeing none, are the members ready to vote? Shall the subcommittee report be adopted? All those in favour, please raise your hand. All those opposed? Carried. The subcommittee report is adopted.

Is there any further business? MPP Saunderson.

Mr. Brian Saunderson: I move that the committee enter closed session for the purposes of organizing committee business.

The Chair (Ms. Laurie Scott): MPP Saunderson has moved a motion. Is there any debate? Are the members ready to vote? All those in favour, please raise your hand. All those opposed? I declare the motion carried.

We’re just going to take a minute so we can move into closed session.

The committee continued in closed session at 0905.
